Product description
Texas Legation bourbon debuted in 2016. It is a joint project of London-based Berry Bros. & Rudd and the small Ironroot Distillery based in Denison, Texas.
Texas declared its separation from Mexico in 1836 and needed to strengthen ties with England and France to prevent a potential invasion. Then-Texas President Sam Houston sent his Secretary of State to London, who established a consulate on James's Street in the building where Berry Bros. & Rudd is still based. The diplomatic mission lasted until 1845, when Texas joined the United States. Texas Legation bourbon is distilled by brothers Jonathan and Robert Likarish at their Ironroot Distillery (established in 2013), and is finished by Doug McIvor, Berry Bros. & Rudd's master blender. The second batch presented here went on sale in 2018, in the amount of 5,000 bottles.
