Product description
Many whisky lovers, including distillery owner George Grant, consider the 15-year-old to be the perfect Glenfarclas, best demonstrating the depth and complexity of this single malt.
Glenfarclas 15 years old is bottled at 46% ABV, as the current chairman says "simply because my grandfather preferred it that way; it is still our family's favourite whisky". (46% ABV is quite unusual for Glenfarclas, only the 15 and 40 years old in the entire range are bottled at this level.)
Nose : complex and beautifully balanced, strong notes of sherry, toffee, almonds, dried apricots and plums, with oak and smoke in the background.
Palate : powerful and beautifully balanced, sherry and dried fruit sweetness, malt, sweet spices, oak bitterness and traces of peat smoke.
Finish : long and decisive, sherry, nuts, dried fruit, oak and peat smoke in the background.
