Product description
The word "Shinobu" means "patience and tolerance" and historically referred to the qualities of samurai.
Ken Usami, owner of Niigata Beer Company, used it in the name of his distillery and whisky. In 2017, Usami obtained a whisky license and began building a distillery in Niigata Prefecture, known in his native Japan as the “Prefecture of the Three White Treasures”—snow, rice, and sake. He now offers blended and blended malt whiskies, the formulas of which he does not disclose (at least some of the ingredients come from outside Japan), which he finishes in Japanese Mizunara oak barrels. In 2020, the Koshi-no Shinobu Pure Malt presented here won a silver medal at the San Francisco World Spirit Competition.
