Product description
The Balmenach Distillery, based in Speyside, was built in 1824. Its current production capacity is 2.8 million litres per year, but finding a bottle of the local single malt is incredibly difficult. Only three official editions come to mind – a 12 year old Flora & Fauna from 1991, and a 27 and 28 year old Highland Selection from the turn of the century. The Balmenach featured here is a candidate for Hunter Laing & Co.’s Old Malt Cask series. Distilled in December 2004, the whisky was aged in a refilled bourbon cask, HL 16552, for over 14 years.
