Product description
The Braeval Distillery was built in 1973 by Chivas Bros, then part of the Seagram group. The distillery's original name was Braes of Glenlivet, and it has been using its current name since 1994. Braeval is a modern and very efficient distillery - equipped with 6 stills, it produces 4.2 million liters of distillate per year, the lion's share of which is "consumed" by Chivas blends. Braeval is quite rarely featured in independent publishers' offers, the whisky presented here is distilled in May 2001 and aged for over 18 years in a sherry butt no. DL 13724. Bottled by Douglas Laing & Co. in November 2019 in the Old Particular series in an edition of 292 bottles.
Nose: mild, sweet breakfast cereals, oranges, bananas, apples, roasted chestnuts, caramel, raisins, ginger, traces of leather and oak.
Taste : sweet with a subtle spiciness, brown sugar, vanilla, Turkish delight, oranges, milk chocolate, mocha, red berry jam, a pinch of anise and pepper.
Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla cream, caramel, strawberries, raisins, milk chocolate, pepper and oak.
