Product description
Linkwood Distillery, located near Elgin, began operation in 1821.
In 1872, William Brown, the founder's son, demolished the existing buildings and built a new distillery in their place. Linkwood was taken over by DCL in 1933 and currently belongs to Diageo. Modernization completed in 2013 increased the distilling capacity of the plant to 5.6 million liters per year, most of which is consumed by the company's blends, mainly Johnnie Walker and White Horse. Diageo does not currently offer an official edition of Linkwood, the most reliable publisher of this single malt has been Gordon & MacPhail for years. The whisky presented here was distilled in 1969, when the distillery was equipped with one pair of stills, and bottled in 2012 after over 40 years of maturation.
