Product description
Amand de Brignac champagne, commonly known as the "Ace of Spades" due to its logo, debuted in 2006.
Its creator is the Cattier family from Montagne de Reims, whose history dates back to 1763. The Cattiers own 33 hectares of their own vineyards located on the best plots of land in the region. The company produces over a million bottles of champagne annually, mainly based on licensing agreements, of which the Armand de Brignac brand only receives 10%. The de Brignac brand was registered in the early 1950s. The idea came from Nelly Cattier, who was impressed by a novel she had recently read, the main character of which bore the surname de Brignac. The brand remained inactive for decades, first appearing on the market in the 21st century, after adding the name Armand. In November 2014, it was owned by Jay-Z, an American rapper and music producer. The parties did not disclose the details of the contract, nor do we know whether the Cattiers got rid of all their shares.
Brut Gold is the most famous version of Armand de Brignac champagne, a blend of three vintages usually combined in the proportions of grapes: Pinot Noir (40%), Chardonnay (40%) and Pinot Meunier (20%). The wines are aged in the deepest parts of the cellars (119 degrees underground) on the lees for three years, then subjected to the process of "dégorgement" (removing the sediment from the sparkling wine) for another six months. Brut Gold is a very elegant and perfectly balanced champagne, with notes of apple blossom, lemons, ripe cherries and apples, toasted wheat bun, a bit of honey and spices. We serve it as an aperitif or with seafood.
