Product description
Built in 1832, Glen Scotia is now one of three distilleries operating in Campbeltown, once known as the “Victorian Capital of Scotch Whisky”.
Almost the entire 20th century was not a happy one for the distillery, bankrupt owners and production interruptions meant that both the buildings and the distillery equipment welcomed the new century in a deplorable state. In the new century, the plant has a third owner, the Hillside Management company from Hong Kong, although under the previous one, Exponent Group (2014-2019), it experienced significant modernizations. The Glen Scotia 1832 Campbeltown presented here debuted in 2019 in the Travel Retail chain. After a basic maturation period in traditional casks, the whisky was finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
