Product description
Somewhat overshadowed by powerhouses such as Ardbeg and Laphroaig, Bunnahabhain Distillery has been producing whisky since 1881.
The current one belongs to Burn Stewart Distillers, which in turn has been part of the South African Distell group since 2013. In sales statistics, the Bunnahabhain single malt is quite far behind the aforementioned Islay giants, although its sales have increased by over 100% in recent years. The Dun Bheagan edition presented here from the Ian Macleod Distillers company is a whisky distilled in October 2006 and aged for 12 years in a sherry butt no. 3263. In 2019, its content translated into 756 bottles of whisky with an alcohol content of 48%.
Nose : pleasant sherry notes, mixed berry jam, brown sugar, raisins, prunes, cocoa powder, a handful of dry herbs and a touch of nutmeg.
Palate : sweet and salty, raisins, dried plums and cranberries, milk chocolate, salted nuts, pepper, nutmeg and notes of sherry-soaked oak.
Finish: quite long, with notes of salted caramel, milk chocolate, nutmeg and an almond-nut mixture.
