Product description
Nikka Distilling Company belongs to Asahi Breweries and is the second largest producer of alcoholic beverages in Japan after Suntory.
Nikka Black is the most popular whisky from its portfolio with annual sales of almost 3 million cases. This whisky had two debuts – June 1956 and September 1965. While the original Black was a blend of malt whisky and blending alcohol (distilled from everything that can be distilled and usually not aged), the second was made from single malt Yoichi and grain whisky from the Nishinomiya Distillery opened in 1964. The Black Deep Blend version presented here is a blend of Yoichi's own malts and Miyagikyo and grain whisky distilled in a Coffey column in Miyagikyo, aged mainly in first-fill barrels.
Aroma: oak-floral, bouquet of dry flowers, hay, vanilla, honey, milk chocolate and breakfast cereals.
Taste: slightly alcoholic, vanilla, caramel, toffee, cereal with honey, dried apples and oak.
Finish: not too long, malty and oaky, an extension of the flavor palette.
