Product description
Harahorn gin is a product of the Norwegian Det Norske Brenneri, a company founded in 2005, the year that ended the state monopoly on the production of alcoholic beverages (the company's original name was Puntervold/Agder Brenneri, and it has been using its current name since 2011).
Harahorn debuted in 2015 to rave reviews, and won a gold medal at the World Spirit Competition in San Francisco the following year. Its formula is based on botanicals from different parts of Norway: juniper comes from Røros, forest berries from Nordmarka, rhubarb and fucus from Grimstad, angelica from Oppdal, and natural marjoram from Sunndal. Harahorn is produced in small batches, no larger than 400 liters. Its name refers to a mythical animal, a hare with moose antlers, whose image adorns the bottle.
Harahorn gin combines aromas of sea breeze, forest berries, juniper, angelica and marjoram; it has a distinct taste, slightly bitter, with noticeable juniper berries, angelica and a slightly muted fruit note. It tastes best with Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic.
