Product description
Duncan Taylor & Co. was founded in 1938 by Abe Rosenberg to operate as a whiskey broker and exporter.
Rosenberg was a great enthusiast of Scottish single malts, for several decades he bought barrels of whisky and stored them in distilleries. At the time of his death (1994) the company had over 3 thousand barrels of whisky, an average of 35 years old. In 2001, Duncan Taylor & Co. was owned by Euan Shand, who built an equally extensive and attractive portfolio based on the acquired stock. The Macallan 1969 presented here, after over four decades of maturation in a sherry cask no. 6860, in January 2012 entered the super-prestigious The Rarest of the Rare Collection. The whisky is presented in a crystal decanter resting in an oak box made from staves of the barrel in which it was matured. The edition consisted of 148 decanters. (Producer's tasting note.)
