Product description
The Danish company 1423 World Class Spirits was founded in 2008 by a group of Scotch whisky enthusiasts after they were given a sample of excellent quality rum to try at a whisky festival.
At that time, there was a suspicion that, apart from whisky, there was also an incredibly interesting world of rum worthy of in-depth study. It all started with a single barrel of rum from Trinidad, which hit the market in early 2009. The abbreviation SBS stands for "single barrel select", which the Danish bottler has specialised in ever since. The number 1423 in the company's name is the number of the first barrel they bottled. 1423 World Class Spirits quickly gained recognition as a distributor of high-quality rare rums, often offered in cask strength, without caramel colouring. SBS Guyana 2003 Rum is a spirit produced at the Diamond Distillery in Guyana, using one of the oldest original wooden stills in the world, from the Versailles Distillery. Its bouquet includes accents of marsala, ripe bananas, almonds, vanilla sugar, toasted bread, dried plums and raisins. On the palate you will also find notes of caramel, bitter citrus, anise, licorice and cinnamon.
