Product description
The Macallan is the most highly regarded whisky among collectors. It all started in the 1950s when the distillery directors decided to expand and sell The Macallan in a single malt version.
The following years only cemented the brand's fame, which currently achieves extremely high prices at auctions, breaking its own records - in November 2018, Christie's auction house sold a bottle of The Macallan 60 years old for 1.2 million pounds. The 25 year old Anniversary Malt edition debuted in the mid-1980s and remained on offer until the beginning of the new century. This whisky is a true work of art, an unusual example of a single malt aged for a quarter of a century in sherry casks and not dominated by its taste.
Nose: rich sherry notes, lots of raisins, bananas, pears, high-class cigar, blood oranges, roasted almonds, honey, a bit of oak and a subtle hint of peat smoke.
Taste: complex, raisins, oranges, bananas, dried figs and apricots, ripe apples, tobacco, licorice, subtle notes of oak and peat smoke.
Finish : very long and complex, sherry, fruit stand, cocoa powder, a bit of dry herbs, oak, tobacco and peat.
