Product description
For many years Pulteney held the title of being the most northerly distillery on the Scottish mainland.
However, in 2013, after a 163-year hiatus, Wolfburn Distillery resumed distilling and stripped it of that honour. Pulteney, based in Wick, began operations in 1826. Its name refers to Sir William Pulteney, who made Wick a model fishing port in 1810. Since 1995, the distillery has been owned by Inver House Distillers, which in turn has been part of the Thai conglomerate Pacific Spirits since 2001. Old Pulteney 12 years old debuted in 1997 and still holds a key place in the company's core range. In 2015, it won a silver medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition .
