Needle Blackforest Distilled Dry Gin / 40% / 0.5l

Needle Black Forest Gin debuted in 2016 in the Bimmerle Private Distillery offering.

The company was founded in 1996 by Günter Bimmerle; its headquarters is Achern in the northern Black Forest, famous for the production of fruit brandies and, more recently, gin. The latter has quite a rich tradition in the region, the Needle Black Forest formula is said to have been developed as early as 1799. The company does not disclose the full list of botanical ingredients, we know that it includes juniper berries, spruce needles, ginger, lavender, cinnamon, allspice, red pepper, lemons and oranges. In 2018, this gin won several prestigious awards, including a gold medal at the International Spirits Awards and a bronze medal at the International Spirits Challenge.

Needle Black Forest offers strong aromas of spruce needles and juniper, citrus and a fleeting hint of rosemary. The taste is similar, although distinct notes of ginger give it an additional piquancy. We strongly recommend tasting it with just an ice cube or with Fentimans Connoisseurs tonic with the addition of lime.
