Product description
Between 1956 and 1974 Tomatin distillery experienced dramatic expansion and number of stills increased form 2 to 23.
Unfortunately the distillery never ran at full capacity and the industry downturn of the early 1980s brought the company to bankruptcy. Tomatin was acquired by two Japanese companies in 1986 and remains in Japanese hands to this day. In recent years Takara Shuzo, who holds the majority stake at Tomatin, increased the range up to 30 expressions and marks the brand presence in every segment. Tomatin 8 years old was introduced in 2016 for Travel Retail customers and comprises whisky aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. The annual sales of the brand have been on the rise reaching 530,000 bottles.
