Product description
Japanese whisky has been on fire since the early 2000s. Supply of single malts meets just a fraction of growing demand, blends look little better but market still screams for more.
From the Barrel is not the best selling blend in Nikka’s portfolio, this honor goes to Nikka Black (2.8 million cases sold annually) but it is the most interesting one. It is a blend of multiple types of malt and grain coming from Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries with possible addition of Nikka-owned Ben Nevis. After blending process has been finished the whisky is transferred into refill barrels for three to six months to complete the marrying process. Nikka from the Barrel is bottled at generous 51,4% abv, a very unusual strength for blends, especially in Japan. Here we have a unique magnum bottle, the capacity of three liters.
