In April 2018 Jura Distillery released the Sherry Cask Collection exclusively for Travel Retail. The range consists of four expressions named after features of the Isle of Jura.
All four have been matured in white American oak casks and finished in Pedro Ximénez casks. There is only one road to navigate by on the Isle of Jura. It goes along the shoreline and certainly would bring visitors from the tiny ferry station to the distillery. Jura the Road was aged in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in casks, which held Pedro Ximénez sherry for 20 years. The name ‘Jura’ translates from the Old Norse to ‘Deer Island’. The island’s 200 residents are outnumbered by deer by a ratio of 20:1.
