Product description
Tyrconnell Whisky was launched in 1876 by Alexander Watt, owner of the Watt Distillery. It is named after the Watt family racehorse that had won the prestigious National Product Stakes that year.
The Watt Distillery closed in 1925, but the Tyrconnell brand returned more than 60 years later as an offering from Cooley Distillery. It is now owned by Kilbeggan Distilling Company, a subsidiary of Beam Suntory. Today’s standard Tyrconnell is a single malt whiskey distilled at the Cooley distillery, aged in white American oak barrels and bottled without an age statement. It won a silver medal at the 2015 International Wine & Spirits Competition.
