Johnnie Walker Blue Label was introduced in 1992. It was a creation of Jim Beveridge, the legendary master blender of Johnnie Walker brand.
The main components of Blue Label are Royal Lochnagar, Clynelish, Caol Ila and Mortlach. Twenty five years later Blue Label is a legend on its own, a benchmark in ultra premium blended whisky category. Over time it has won many major awards, including six Le Monde Selection Grand Golds and three Double Golds at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Every year Diageo supplements the Blue Label range with limited editions, there were over 30 of them released till date.
Nose: well balanced, lightly smoky, delicate sherry notes, hazelnuts, honey, raisins, prunes, dark chocolate, hints of pepper and aniseed and oak.
Palate: rich, dark chocolate, honey, prunes, dried figs, roasted almonds, nutmeg, pepper, whiffs of peat smoke and subtle oaky bitterness.
Finish: long, nutty and mildly smoky, with notes of dried fruit, honey, oak and hints of spice.
