Tequilera Corralejo, the manufacturer of the Corralejo brand, is one of the very few tequila manufacturers located outside the state of Jalisco in Mexico.
Tequilera Corralejo is situated in the town of Pénjamo, state of Guanajuato. The distillery is open to visitors, who are offered not only an opportunity to witness the traditional process of tequila making, but also a visit to Museo del Vino y la Botellas. The museum exhibits a collection of about 3,000 bottles, most of which still hold their original contents.
Tequila Corralejo 99,000 Horas is an añejo tequila, manufactured in small batches and matured for 18 months in American oak ex-bourbon barrels. The number of hours in the name of the tequila refers to how long it takes to actually make the tequila – from planting the agave to bottling the tipple.
Nose: Notes of chocolate, vanilla, almonds, dried fruit and oak.
Palate: Notes of chocolate, oak and fruit.
Finish: Long, with nutty overtones.
