Product description
The patron of the bourbon presented here is Clyde May, a famous moonshiner who operated in Alabama from the 1950s to the 1980s.
He had a habit of adding dried apples to the barrel with fresh distillate, which beautifully enriched his palette. The whiskey produced in this way was eventually called "Alabama Style". Clyde May died in 1990, and in 2002 his son Kenny registered the Conecuh Ridge brand. Kenny did not fully respect the rules of the alcohol trade, soon came into conflict with the law, and his company went bankrupt. In 2009, it was taken over by private investors from Texas and after restructuring, registered in Florida as Conecuh Ridge Distillery Inc. With the Clyde May's Straight Bourbon edition, the company distances itself from "Alabama Style Whiskey". It is distilled from a mash containing 78% corn, 12% rye and 10% barley malt at an undisclosed distillery in Kentucky.
