Product description
Bottle No. 201 / 2400
Bruichladdich Distillery has been producing whisky since 1881, but it was not until the 21st century that it reached its peak.
Over the last century, it has changed hands and experienced production interruptions. In 1965, Bruichladdich was owned by Ross & Coulter and distilled in a single pair of stills, producing around 750,000 litres of distillate per year. The Bruichladdich 1965 presented here is a 22-year-old whisky bottled for the Italian importer Rinaldi Imortatori. Its name refers to Luigi Veronelli, an influential food critic, wine reviewer and, to a lesser extent, spirits reviewer, and one of the pioneers of the Italian single malt market. The edition consisted of 2,400 bottles.
Nose: fruity and slightly floral, raspberries, cherries, blackcurrants, vanilla cream, honey, allspice, a trace of leather, notes of seaweed and damp hay and a touch of peat.
Palate: mild, fruity, mixed berry jam, peaches, baked apples, caramel, vanilla, lemongrass, a touch of pepper and oak.
Finish: quite long, with notes of kitchen spices, apples, pears, hay, caramel, toffee, a bit of tobacco and oak.
