Product description
The Tomatin Distillery was established in 1897. Expansions in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s made it Scotland's largest malt distillery, but its short-lived success ended in bankruptcy in 1985.
A year later, Tomatin welcomed new owners, the Japanese companies Takara Shuzo and Okura & Co., who reduced production capacity and focused on distilling for the blended whisky sector. It was not until the new millennium that a wide range of single malts was offered. The 14-year-old version, finished in port barrels for at least a year, debuted in 2014 as Port Wood Finish. Two years later, Tomatin made the presentation of its whiskies much more attractive, both the bottle and the label, and the whisky presented here debuted as Port Casks. It also won a gold medal at the World Spirit Competition that year.
