Product description
Glencadam is based in the town of Brechin in the eastern Highlands, close to the North Port Distillery, which has been closed since 1983.
The distillery began operating in 1825 and for over a century did not achieve any measurable success. The turning point came in 1954 and its takeover by the Canadian company Hiram Walker & Sons, which included the creamy Glencadam whisky in the formulas of Ballantine's, Teacher's and Ambassador blends. Since 2003, the distillery has belonged to the Angus Dundee company, a well-known producer of blended whisky, and works at full capacity, producing about 1.3 million liters of alcohol per year. Glencadam Origin 1825 debuted in 2016, it is a young whisky aged in bourbon barrels and finished in sherry barrels.
