Product description
Tomintoul Distillery was built in 1964 by two Glasgow whisky wholesalers, Hay & MacLeod and W. & S. Strong.
In the early 1970s, they merged with Whyte & Mackay and Tomintoul immediately began to play a key role in W&M blends. Since 2000, the mill has been owned by Angus Dundee plc, owned by the Hillman family, a major player in the blended whisky market. Tomintoul is described by its owners as The Gentle Dram and is indeed one of the smoothest single malts from Speyside. The Tlàth Edition was launched in August 2016. Aged in ex-bourbon casks and bottled without an age statement at 40% abv, its name translates from the Gaelic for ‘mild’.
