Product description
The Jura Distillery was established in 1810, but the first 150 years of its history were not very successful.
The change of fortune was brought about by the takeover of the plant, which had been idle for 60 years, by Charles Mackinay & Co in 1960 and its complete reconstruction. The new century brought a completely different image of Jura and an incredible sales dynamics – from 350 thousand bottles in 2010 to 1.9 million five years later. Juar 1977 Vintage is the content of three first-fill bourbon barrels, finished in a port barrel for 12 months. The edition consists of 498 bottles. Juar is the Gaelic name for the mythical “Yew” trees with magical properties, which grew on the island of Jura centuries ago.
Aroma: rich, fruity and spicy with a subtle scent of forest floor, raisins, dried plums, apricots and cranberries, cinnamon, cloves, traces of maple syrup.
Taste : tropical fruit salad, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg, toffee, vanilla and a delicate nutty note.
Finish: long, a mixture of dried fruits in chocolate with a mild oak bitterness in the background.
