Product description
In March 1923, Hugh Rudd convinced his partners, the Berry brothers, to create a blended whisky with a delicate palette that would appeal to the tastes of Americans suffering under the shackles of Prohibition.
In a short time, Cutty Sark gained an excellent reputation, distinguishing itself significantly from the more widely available moonshine strongly colored with caramel. The fame that Cutty Sark experienced in the 1920s and 1930s paid off over the years, making it the first Scotch whisky to exceed the threshold of one million cases sold in the States (in 1961). In 2010, the Edrington Group became the owner of the brand and immediately expanded the commercial offer. The Storm edition by the master of blending Kristeen Campbell was released in 2012 and contains a higher percentage of malt whisky (also older) than the standard version. The grain distillate comes from the North British Distillery.
