Bruichladdich's Italian Collection consists of six whiskies distilled in 1993.
Which, after spending fourteen years in bourbon barrels, were subjected to additional aging for several months in barrels from the finest Italian wines. The "Italian Collection" hit the market in 2007 and each of the whiskies included in it was a limited edition of 3,000 bottles. Brunello is produced from the Sangiovese grape in vineyards surrounding Montalcino in Tuscany. The barrels used for the Bruichladdich edition come from a vineyard belonging to the Baja family.
Aroma: caramel, toffee, vanilla, grapes, white pepper and delicate oak tones.
Taste: harmony of flavors, black cherries, vanilla, caramel, toffee, walnuts and a pinch of nutmeg.
Finish: quite short, nutty with oak bitterness.
