Benrinnes Distillery is equipped with six stills working in rather unusual pattern – two wash stills feed four spirit stills.

Not too long ago they were run three and three and part of the spirit was distilled three times. The 1992 Vintage bottling is a part of Diageo’s 2014 Special Releases. The whisky was aged exclusively in ex-sherry casks and bottled at natural strength of 56.9% abv with an outrun of 2892 bottles.

Nose: huge sherry and oak statement, truffle oil and ginger cake.

Palate: enormous expanse of sherry, sweet spice, toffee, prunes, dried figs, oak and traces of leather.

Finish: very long and warming, spicy, with lingering oak and smokiness.
