Product description
In early 2013, Highland Park Distillery, whose products increasingly refer to Orkney's Scandinavian heritage, introduced The Warrior Series .
The whiskies included in it referred to regional heroes from the past, whose images adorned the packaging of the drinks. Harald is dedicated to the first king of Norway, Harald Hairfair (850-932), a Viking chieftain who established the earldom of Orkney. His warriors were famous for fighting with shields, with which they broke through the hordes of enemies, wounding them and killing them (the image of which can be seen on the packaging). Highland Park Harald is a whisky aged in barrels of American and European oak.
Nose: a combination of sweet and spicy, vanilla, honey, raisins, orange peel, dried cranberries, ginger, lemon pepper and a hint of peat smoke.
Taste : all the elements of the aromatic palette materialize in pleasant harmony, a bit of nutmeg and oak bitterness, a trace of eucalyptus.
Finish: medium long, malty, bitterness of oak and spices, and peat smoke in the background.
