Operating since 1997, Prichard's is the first distillery registered in Tennessee since the end of Prohibition.
Its original headquarters is in Kelso, and since 2014, a sister location has also been operating in Nashville. The Prichards are a family with a strong distilling tradition; the current owner's great-great-great grandfather, Benjamin Prichard, was distilling whiskey as early as 1822. The company's offering includes rye whiskey, single malts, bourbons, Tennessee Whiskey, and rums. The Prichard's rye presented here is distilled from a mash of 70% rye, 15% corn, and 15% malted barley, and is aged for an average of three to five years in charred American oak barrels.
Aroma : sweet and spicy, vanilla, honey, mulled wine spices, apples, bananas, pine needles, freshly baked wholemeal bread and a pinch of anise.
Palate: banana cake, caramel, vanilla, maple syrup, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, mixed dry herbs and oak.
Finish : medium long, herbal-spicy, with notes of cinnamon, cloves, pepper, oak and a touch of vanilla.
