Product description
The Hirsch brand, or to be more specific A.H. Hirsch, was originally associated with bourbon and rye whiskey from Michter’s Distillery operating in Shaefferstown, Pennsylvania.
Adolf H. Hirsch was a senior executive at Schenley Corporation who purchased stock from Michter’s Distillery and sold it later under his name. In the 21st Century A.H. Hirsch is one of the most collectible bourbon brands. Since 2003 the Hirsch brand has been owned by Preiss Imports with headquarters in California. Hirsch Selection Kentucky Straight Corn Whiskey was sourced in our opinion from Heaven Hill Distillers (straight corn whiskey has to be distilled from mash of minimum 80% corn and aged for at least two years).
Nose: sweet and slightly spirity, brown sugar, cooked corn, freshly mowed grass, bunch of garden herbs and touch of oak.
Palate: follows the nose, corn, cotton candy, caramel, shortbread, lemon peel, grass and dash of herbs.
Finish: not too long, slightly spirity, with notes of corn, vanilla, grass and oak.
