Product description
Evan Williams is a serious contender to “the First Commercial Kentucky Distiller” title; it is no secret that he set up his distillery on the banks of the Ohio River back in 1783, nine years before Kentucky became the 15th state to join the Union.
Today Heaven Hill Distillery produces his namesake bourbon from mashbill of 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley. Evan Williams bourbon was introduced in 1957 and its current annual sales surpass 1.4 million cases (2 million including flavored expressions). The 23 years old edition is a jewel in every collector’s crown. Originally released in 1988 for the Japanese market returned over 20 years later to be sold only in Heaven Hill Bourbon Heritage Center and selected export markets. It was named the Bourbon of the Year in 2011 and 2012 Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible.
