The cooperation between Diageo and HBO Inc., the producer of "Game of Thrones", has produced a series of single malt whiskies dedicated to the heroes of the series – the seven families of Westeros and the Night's Watch.
The eight-strong edition of whiskies hit the market in late 2018 and precedes the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones. House Tyrell of Highgarden is a royal family ruling over the rich and fertile land of Reach, where two important routes intersect – the Rose and the Sea. The Tyrell family’s coat of arms is a rose, and their motto is “We Gather Strength”. The Clynelish Distillery fits perfectly into the scenery of Reach, situated between hills and green pastures with a picturesque view of the North Sea. Clynelish Reserve House of Tyrell was aged in bourbon barrels and bottled at a natural alcohol content of 51.2%.
Nose: fruity with a floral note, honeydew melon, apricots, mango, white chocolate, vanilla, honey, nut nougat and wax.
Taste: slightly waxy, passion fruit, bananas, pears, vanilla, toffee, a hint of white pepper and a pleasant brine note in the background.
Finish: quite long, with notes of ripe citrus, vanilla, honey, cinnamon and a touch of wax.
