Product description
Compass Box Whisky Company was founded in 2000 by John Glaser, previously marketing director of UDV, the previous incarnation of Diageo.
The Spice Tree blended malt debuted in 2005, with Clynelish, supplemented with Teaninich and Dailuaine, playing the main role in its formula. The initial maturation takes place in first-fill and refill bourbon barrels, after which the whisky is transferred to heavily toasted French oak barrels for about two years (previously the company put French oak staves in the barrels). In 2015, Compass Box Spice Tree won the title of best Scottish blended malt at The World Spirits Competition in San Francisco.
