Product description
Although a lot has changed since the times of the company founder, Don Andrés Brugal, who arrived at the Dominican Republic in 1888, the Brugal family are still making their rum in exactly the same way.
From the plantation to the bottle, each drop is distilled, filtered and matured by the family, which makes for a fresh, dry rum with a difference. Today’s Maestro Roneros, or Master Blenders, are the 4th and 5th generation of the Brugal family. They have been perfecting the molasses for the production of their rums for 125 years, so they know the process through and through. All their rums are double distilled in the town of San Pedro de Macorix. The rums mature in various types of casks, carefully selected by the cellar master. While maturing, the rum acquires the colour and flavours from the casks.
Brugal Blanco Supremo is a blend of spirits that matured for between 1 and 2 years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels. Prior to bottling it is filtered to remove any colouring that would be unwanted in cocktails. It is crispy and tart, and has a pleasant tropical character, which makes it a perfect choice for a wide variety of cocktails. Its bouquet offers citrus notes and vanilla.
