Product description
Mayfair Gin is a product of Mayfair Brands (vodka and rum are also offered under this brand), founded by four partners with extensive experience in the industry – Douglas Davidson.
Roger Hatfield, Stephen Duffy and Michael Peirce (formerly a board member of Isle of Arran Distillers). The gin is named after an exclusive London district where property prices are among the highest in the world. Mayfair gin is produced according to a 200-year-old formula developed by Sir Robert Burnett, one of the pioneers of this type of drink. We do not know all of its ingredients, but they certainly include juniper berries, coriander seeds, orris root and a rare variety of angelica found only in hard-to-reach areas of Turkey. It is said to give the gin a unique taste. Mayfair is distilled at the Thames Distillery in London under the supervision of Charles Maxwell, whose family has been associated with gin production since the 18th century. The formula for the High Tea version presented here also includes Earl Grey tea and rose petals.
Mayfair High Tea London Dry is a very "British" gin, with intense juniper notes balanced by bergamot, licorice and coriander enriched with a subtle floral note. We recommend serving it with just ice or Fever Tree Premium tonic with a slice of orange.
