The history of Courvoisier began in the suburbs of Paris in 1809. It was then that Emmanuel Courvoisier, in partnership with Louis Gallois, founded a company in the alcohol industry (wines and spirits).
Initially, the gentlemen dealt in, among other things, the best cognacs, but it soon turned out that in order to have access to them, the headquarters had to be moved to the Cognac appellation, or best of all – to produce them themselves. To this day, Courvoisier's headquarters is located in the Château in Jarnac, to which Messrs. Courvoisier and Gallois moved in 1828. In 1869, the company received the title of official supplier to the imperial court, granted by Napoleon III. Courvoisier VSOP cognac owes its inner harmony to the grapes from Grand and Petit Champagne, while those from Fins Bois provide plant and fruit accents.
Aroma : Fruity and herbal accents dominate – ripe peach, jasmine, a hint of almonds.
Palate: Full, smooth, with accents of peaches and apricots, complemented by floral and nutty notes. Roasted almonds, walnuts.
Finish : Long, pleasant. Fruity accents give way to oak and spicy notes.
