Product description
Scapegrace Distilling Company was founded in 2014 by two amateur musicians from New Zealand (brothers-in-law), Mark Neal and Daniel McLaughlin.
The company was originally called Rogue Society Distilling and produced gin; in 2017, it changed its name because it overlapped with the name of the brewery in Newport. The company is currently building a new distillery, which is expected to be operational in autumn 2023. A year earlier, in October, it debuted Scapegrace single malt whisky. It was distilled at a contract distillery based on the South Island from locally grown Laureate barley and water flowing down from the New Zealand Alps. The Fortuna VI presented here was aged in 100-litre virgin French oak barrels for three years, and the edition consisted of 10,057 bottles.
