Product description
In the spring of 2019 the Edrington Group sold Glenturret Distillery to newly formed Glenturret Holding, a joint venture between luxury goods company Lalique Group and Swiss entrepreneur Hansjörg Wyss, Lalique’s second largest shareholder.
In September 2020 the distillery launched its new core range including four expressions – Triple Wood, 10 years old Peat Smoked, 12 years old and 15 years old. The new expressions come in Lalique inspired bottles with a distinctive rectangular profile and the packaging carries the Glenturret crest, which was inspired by the Murray family’s coat of arms. The range was created by the Macallan’s Bob Dalgarno, who joined the Glenturret as master distiller. The 12 years old expression, 2022 edition, is a vatting of fewer than 60 carefully selected casks, both American and European oak.
Nose: vanilla custard, caramel, honey, baked apples sprinkled with cinnamon, oranges, roasted nuts, nutmeg, ginger, hints of potpourri and oak.
Palate: smooth, vanilla, butterscotch, milk chocolate, cinnamon buns, raisins and sultanas, oranges, apples, nutmeg, dash of ginger and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, ginger, oak tannins, and hints of lavender.
