Product description
Glenallachie is a relatively new distillery, built in 1967 by Mackinaly, McPherson & Co. The name GlenAllachie comes from the Gaelic gleann aileachaidh, which translates to "rocky valley".
For years, Glenallachie malt has been the backbone of the Clan of Campbell blend, one of the most popular whiskies in France (global sales of 20 million bottles per year). In 2017, Pernod Ricard, the owner at the time, sold the Glenallachie Distillery and its warehouse stock (50,000 barrels) to a group of investors led by Billy Walker. GlenAllachie 10 year old Cask Strength debuted in June 2018; the Batch #8 presented here hit the market in October 2022. As in the previous edition, Billy Walker used puncheon sherry barrels from Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez, as well as a small number of wine barrels from the Rioja region and so-called virgin oak casks.
