Product description
The New Zealand Whisky Collecton was founded by Greg Ramsay in 2010.
The company was established in order to purchase the remaining 443 casks of whisky (about 200 of them single grain) distilled between 1987 and 1994 in now defunct Willowbank Distillery located in Dunedin on the South Island of New Zealand. The whisky was moved to the seaside warehouse located in Oamaru on Southern Island, and in the next few years processed and sold under various brands. One of the brands was Oamaruvian. Oamaruvian Cask Strength Double Wood represents a new chapter in the company history. The whisky was distilled in undisclosed local distillery in September 2017, aged in ex-bourbon barrel for 3 years, then transferred into French ok local Pinot Noir cask # 1180 for additional 1.5 years. The whisky was bottled at natural strength of 52.4% abv in February 2022 with and outrun of 552 half-liter bottles.
