Cross Keys, Latvia’s first premium gin, debuted in 2018. Its name, a pair of crossed keys, is an ancient symbol of hospitality, still part of the Riga coat of arms.
The brand belongs to the Amber Beverage Group based in Luxembourg, and is produced in Riga by the oldest and largest producer of alcoholic beverages, Latvijas Balzmas (the company's roots date back to the late 18th century, and it has been using its current name since 1970). The key ingredients of Cross Keys gin are juniper berries, rosemary, chamomile and linden blossom. The Sea Buckthorn Premium Craft Gin presented here joined the offer in 2020, and its formula also includes sea buckthorn. The gin is presented in a stoneware bottle characteristic of the brand, this time in a honey-orange color, reminiscent of sea buckthorn berries.
In the aromatic bouquet of gin we find notes of sweet berries, fresh herbs and just a trace of juniper. In the taste again a lot of berries, balanced with rosemary, chamomile and a subtle note of juniper. We recommend serving with premium tonic with the addition of lime and a mint leaf.
