Product description
Glenora, the first Canadian malt distillery was built between 1986 and 1990 by Bruce Jardine.
The distillery is located in Glenville, Nova Scotia, on Cape Breton Island and equipped with two small stills can produce about 350,000 liters of spirit per annum. The distillery had pretty bumpy start experiencing financial as well as production problems (apparently first batches were of rather poor quality). The turning point came in 1993 with a change of ownership and hiring the former Glen Ord manager for the master distiller post. Glen Breton Rare, the first Canadian single malt was launched in 2000. It was 8 years old whisky, which sold in a matter of days. Glen Breton 10 years old debuted a couple of years later and remains a distillery flagship.
