Château du Breuil is a renowned Calvados producer based in Normandy.
The castle, built in the early 16th century, was adapted for the distillation of calvados in 1954, and in 2020 the owners joined the group of whisky producers. The first three editions of Le Breuil single malt – Origine, Oloroso Sherry Finish and Finition Tourbé (Islay Cask Finish – gained considerable popularity. In 2022, the commercial offer was expanded by blended malt whiskies combined with the participation of single malt from Maison Boinaud based in the Cognac region. The Duo de Malt Whisky Blend presented here is the standard version of this blended malt.
Nose : fresh barley malt, apples, peaches, pears, lemon peel, vanilla, caramel, linseed and a pinch of cinnamon.
Taste : breakfast cereals, vanilla, milk fudge, coconut flakes, peaches, nectarines, lime jam and a pinch of pepper.
Finish : medium long, with notes of breakfast cereal, summer fruits, vanilla, coconut flakes, white pepper and oak.
