Product description
Whiskey Writer's Tears debuted in 2009, launched by Bernard and Rosemary Walsh.
It is composed of triple-distilled single pot still (60%) and single malt (40%) whiskeys aged in barrels of white American oak. Its huge success encouraged the creators to expand the brand with more versions, of which the Japanese Cask Finish presented here deserves special attention. Mizunara oak is porous, grows very slowly, hence rarely used by whiskey producers. The price of several thousand dollars per barrel is also significant. The whiskey presented here comes from barrel no. 2196 and was bottled at 55% abv and without cold filtration in an edition of 624 bottles.
