In 2014, the assets of the Loch Lomond Distillery Company (the Loch Lomond and Glen Scotia distilleries, the Glen Caterine Bonded Warehouse bottling plant and several brands including the single malt Littlemill)
They became the property of the new company Loch Lomond Group, established with financial support from the private equity group Exponent. From the eight single malts previously produced, three were chosen – Loch Lomond, Inchmurrin and Inchmoan. Loch Lomond Classic is a great introduction to the company's wide range. It is a young single malt aged in bourbon barrels offered at an extremely affordable price. Since 2019, the owner of the Loch Lomond Group is Hillhouse Capital Management based in Hong Kong.
Aroma: light, lots of malt, honey, vanilla, breakfast cereals, some hay, traces of leather and oak.
Taste : malty, slightly alcoholic, burnt toast, green apples, walnuts, a hint of pepper, ginger and oak.
Finish : not too long, malty, with notes of hay, nuts, vanilla and oak.
