Product description
A producer with a winemaking tradition dating back to the 16th century, when the first mentions of wines from the estate appeared. Towards the end of the 20th century, the estate fell into decline, producing less and less wine and reducing vine plantings. Its fortunes changed in 1998 when it was purchased by Sting and Trudie Styler. They decided to breathe new life into it, while taking advantage of the centuries-old tradition, maintaining wine production, while also making efforts to increase the area under vines, all the while respecting the principles of organic farming. Since 2000, they have managed to replant 11 hectares of vines.
They release their wines in very distinctive labels – each one is named after one of Sting’s hits. In addition to growing grapes, the entire estate also produces a wider range of organic food – there is no problem buying cold cuts, fresh fruit and eggs, as well as honey and olive oil produced on site.
Roxanne Bianco 2021 Tenuta Il Palagio
Very pleasant and light wine, made from the Vermentino grape variety. The grapes are destemmed and gently pressed after harvest, then fermented in stainless steel tanks. It is not matured in barrels, which gives it a very fresh and fruity character. The nose is full of tropical fruit aromas, especially pineapple and bananas. On the palate it is smooth and due to the higher residual sugar content it has a good texture. Tropical notes combine with citrus accents and a touch of honey. The finish is moderate, very fresh.
It tastes best served at a temperature of 8-10 degrees. Perfect as an aperitif, especially on warm, summer days. In culinary combinations, it works well with light salads, appetizers, and also with white meats. It can also be very attractive in the company of more spicy Asian dishes.
